Rev. Buck Burch
Buck Burch – Georgia Baptist State Missionary
After being called to pastor for several years in middle Georgia, Buck Burch served with the International Mission Board as missions’ strategist for church planting teams in Moscow and St. Petersburg, Russia (1998-2011). Since then he has served as State Missionary with the Cooperative Program & Stewardship division of the Georgia Baptist Mission Board in Atlanta. He also has concurrently served as interim Senior Pastor at First Baptist Ellijay (2015-16) and interim Missions Pastor at Rehoboth Baptist Church in Tucker (2012-13). Originally from Eastman, GA, and now living in Loganville, Buck completed his undergraduate degree in English at Liberty University and later received graduate degrees in theology and organizational leadership from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary and Regis University. He and his wife Leslie have three grown children. Leslie has been an elementary school teacher in Dekalb and Walton Counties.
Minister of Music
Eddie was born in Dalton, Georgia and graduated from West Side High in 1974. He attended Walker County Tech and graduated with a diploma in drafting and design. He received his Associate of Divinity Church Music from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary in 1985 and was ordained that same year by Center Point Baptist Church of Dalton, Georgia. he has served many years in the ministry at various churches through the southeast including Bush, Louisiana; Austell, Georgia, East Ridge, Tennessee, and Mableton, Georgia. He came to serve Macland in February, 2015.
Eddie married his high school sweetheart, Jodi, and they have been married for 40 years. Jodi has her own business, "KOLA KIDS"(custom clothing for kids), and she is a member of the sanctuary choir. They have three daughters April Lowery Ban, Carrie Lowery Jennings, and Miagan Lowery Cobb. Eddie and Jodi have been blessed with five wonderful grandchildren Kannon, Owen, Lucy, Amos, and Charlie.
Eddie enjoys hunting, fishing and just about anything outdoors and enjoys spending time with his grandchildren. He is currently an active member in the Sons of Jubal, which is a male chorus made up of ministers of music who serve in churches throughout the state of Georgia within the Southern Baptist Convention.
Eddie feels that music is a vital tool in becoming a follower of Christ through all styles of music, praise chorus, hymns, anthems and instrumentals as long as the music is centered on Jesus Christ and has a strong message of hope.
