AWANA is one of the most successful programs we have in our church. AWANA stands for Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed. This title is based on 2 Timothy 2:15 that says "study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth." The AWANA program is age-graded beginning with preschool and going through a junior varsity and varsity program for high school. It focuses on Scripture knowledge and memorization. There were more than 180 children enrolled in this program for the last school year. They are instructed by more than 60 adults who have a deep love for children and for the Word of God.

The children are divided into six groups based on age - Puggles, Cubbies, Sparks, T&T (Truth and Training), Trek and Journey. For more information, e-mail us at Awana@MaclandBaptist.org.

AWANA REGISTRATION

Another exciting year of AWANA is being planned during this Summer break. The Summer break is a great time to pray about your role in making 2010 - 2011 the best AWANA year ever. Grant Lynch our AWANA Commander along with all of the Directors listed above would love to discuss how God may be calling you to become apart of our AWANA program.

Some upcoming dates to remember:

July 22, 2010: Commander/Director/Leader Kickoff Dinner in (Hiram) if you would like to attend, please let Grant know when you see him at church or, e-mail him at lynch1202@bellsouth.net

July 25th and August 1, 2010: Pre-Registration, an information table will be set up near the Welcome Center to answer all of your questions and receive completed registration forms.

August 1, 2010: Leaders meeting for ALL LEADERS at 4:00PM in the Family Life Center.

August 8, 2010: Opening Night

Registration for 2010 is 15 dollars and can be paid all at once or a little at a time. Additional cost for items such as books and uniforms will be communicated at a club level. Print out a registration form here on the website or pick one up at the church.

Check in on club nights is at 4:50 p.m. with AWANA starting at 5:00 p.m. Club ends each Sunday night at 7:15 p.m.
